The fourth session of GK Atlas series was conducted on 25-Dec-2012 in Vivekanand Auditorium, at PT-Head quarters by PT Chairman Mr. Sandeep Manudhane. The topic of the session was ‘The technological man ‘. Mr. Manudhane said that the latest trends in technology are affecting our social and economic life in positive and negative ways .Technology is showing different colours to every one. After every two years, information gets doubled. China will be having maximum number of English speaking people in the entire world. Every month, more than three billion people search on the famous search engine Google, every second there are more than 150 million phone calls done in world. Mr. Manudhane said that this is the time of revolution in information technology and telecommunication sector. Our scientists will soon make super computers that will calculate faster than human brains that will be going to the biggest achievement in the field of research.
In the second part of the session, Mr. Manudhane explained the typical subject like human genography with the help of power point presentation and video. He also explained students about the human genographic project started by national geographical channel and IBM; with the help of this project scientist are trying to decode the genome DNA which will eventually be helpful in controlling various non curable diseases. Mr. Manudhane finally concluded with briefing about bio-technology, human and animal cloning, hybrid car, digital pen, mobile revolution, man and machine, artificial intelligence and large hadron collider (LHC).
The full-blast multimedia (video and audio) made the whole exercise a grand event. Students enjoyed it to the fullest.
